Radiolaria, Symmetry and The Unrepressed Unconscious

I have become interested in Radiolaria recently. These are microscopic organisms that existed over 500 million years ago. They are one cell organisms with a skeleton consisting of concentric shells connected in a crystal web. These microscopic amoeba like protoplasms lived deep in the ocean and were first discovered by Ernst Haeckel who produced some quite amazing illustrations of them and other underwater creatures.

They make me think of 17th century alchemical illustrations and of sacred geometry and of those remarkable 300x zoomed pictures of sand. It's like the sea has been dreaming forms and structure, possibilities for the geometric shapes of life. The spirals and forms the earth takes and our relationship with those structures is intriguing.

I am left considering these shapes and patterns through nature and their bearing on the unconscious. I am wondering if the unrepressed unconscious is monist.

I have been wondering about Matte-Blanco's bi-logical sets and his description of the unrepressed unconscious. The notion that the unrepressed unconscious operates in symmetry and makes broad strokes to understand emotion through merged structures. ie. father, analyst, teacher, master all merge into a broad recognised emotion and not distinct entities.

I need to further understand the relation to this and of transference neurosis but I'm wondering if this is one aspect that is being tackled in psychoanalytic psychotherapy; the individuation and specificity or clarity of emotion towards the other. A trainee who has had over ten years of analysis once said to me that as a consequence of his analysis he was able to see me more clearly.
